department of prof. Tao Kai Zheng exhibits the outcome of a 4 week workshop on
sustainable design and recycling in an everyday context.

>Sustainable design is the art of designing physical objects to
comply with the principles of economic, social, and ecological sustainability.
It ranges from the microcosm of designing small objects for
everyday use, through to the macrocosm of designing buildings, cities, and the earth’s
physical surface. The resources used in this workshop are based on the nearest valuable
“waste” to enjoy making things with. Function follows material… the show displays

>The opening of this event will take place on Monday the 5th of november at 18:00h
in the QIQIANNIAN ART CENTER http://qiqiannian.artmaz.com/
in the north-east of beijing . It will last 4 days and
will be accompanied by a small documentary-book. Published and edited by the students
and Kaspar König. He is a specialist in redefining qualities of materials and his dutch attitude
helps undoubtfully to enhance the playfullness in the recycling and workflow of this project.
