Wij willen jullie graag uitnodigen voor de opening van de “On the Wing” tentoonstelling. 5^e December verzorgen Harold Schellinx, Rod Summers en Kaspar König een middag à la surprise. Het spektakel begint om 15u in het Brandweer Capucijnenstraat 21, 6211 RN Maastricht «On the Wing» is een tentoonstelling gebaseerd op «Waiting in the Wings» 2009.Het is een poging om een vergankelijke kunstvorm in een duurzame stoffelijke vorm over te dragen. De tentoonstelling is dan ook niet als een documentatie van het performance-festival bedoeld, maar als een autonoom «kunst-stuk», een installatie met een begin en een eind. De relicten van de performances creëren samen met video- en sound-documenten nieuwe verhalen, en vergroeien op deze manier tot een inloopinstallatie. De bezoekers zijn fysiek betrokken en verbonden met het decor. On the Wing is een toneelachtige, toegankelijke tentoonstelling met een veranderlijke, wandelende inborst. The 5th of December on St Nicholas’ Eve Harold Schellinx, Rod Summers and Kaspar König are presenting us an afternoon à la surprise. The spectacle begins at 3 p.m in the “Brandweer” Capucijnenstraat 21, 6211 RN Maastricht. 30 local and international artists were involved in the «Waiting in the wings» performance festival. For a week they gained their creativity together to create a lively no-stage festival that lasted for three days. Quiet a big effort for such a short time of performing. For this reason we conceived «on the wing» exhibition. An exhibition formed out of the props, sets and documentations of the «waiting in the wings» festival. The absence of the performers has practical reasons – it means to be independent of 30 artists time and work schedules and transportation-money. None the less it is also led by the interest in the experiment – to transform live-art into a static form without losing its theatrical magic. For each object for each document is written a scene, that is explaining their story and origin to the spectators, or is inventing a new situation. As in the festival, visitors will move through a live-Installation and are physically involved and connected to the scenery.
